Recognizes a member company that demonstrates strong safety leadership, effective workplace practices and an ongoing commitment to improving the physical and psychological well-being of workers.
This award replaces the former Builder Safety and Trade/Supplier Safety awards.
*NOTE*
COR and SECOR is not an eligibility requirement. A nominee without certification assessment, and the resulting score feeds the applicable Apex calculation.
A company does not need to be nominated for Safety Leadership to qualify for an Apex award. Builder of the Year, Trade and Supplier entrants complete the same safety assessments, and the resulting score feeds the applicable Apex Calculation.
Requirements
Peer nomination only. Self-nomination is not permitted.
- Completed nominator form with specific examples explaining why the nominee demonstrates exceptional safety leadership.
- After accepting the nomination, the nominee pays the entry fee and completes the required Nominee form.
- The Nominee form must be completed or approved by the nominee's safety coordinator, safety leader or manager.
- The nominee must provide its current WCB Employer Premium Rate Statement and indicate whether it was under WCB Employer Review during the eligibility period.
- Proof of a current COR or SECOR may be submitted where held. COR or SECOR is not required for eligibility.
- Companies operating under one safety program or managed by one primary safety contact must enter collectively. WCB information must be provided for each included company and will be considered together.
